4-3 Just
wanted to let everyone know that I received a beautiful letter of thanks from
Camp Waban for the $3500 we raised at the gate last year at the Sanford event in
October. They are eagerly awaiting the May 3rd event. John is in the process of
setting up a meeting with them to get started on the advertisement and other
incidentals that need attention.
On
another note I finished the rotating assembly last weekend on my motor. This
weekend (April 4 ) I am picking up the heads for the motor and should have it
ready to put back into the car within the week. In looking over the bill from
the machine shop I noticed the following charges on the bill
Dismantle and clean two heads-----------------------150.00
Grind all valves and dip-----------------------------------150.00
Flow and cc chambers------------------------------------200.00
Install ANTI - MOPAR Horsepower-------------------FREE
Install and adjust FORD ATTITUDE------------------FREE
Set up heads to win 2009 Championship--------PRICELESS

3/29 - Hey all this is Darlene, send me a quick e-mail and let me know how your rigs are coming for the first race. I know that everyone checks this site and it would be interesting to let people know what you may be driving this year or if you had made any changes to go faster !!! Once the races start I will have John add another tab to the site which will say "race results" so you can read how you did on the past race. If any of you have any ideas for that column let me know.. Remember this tab will be for all of you.. Also if you have pictures of your ATV, truck or dragster send it to me and I will post it for you..
3/27 - Wanted to let everyone know that the Camp Waban Telethon last Saturday raised over $104,000 the best they have ever done. We ( Mark & I ) were on live TV at 10:30AM and presented them with the $3500 we had raised from last years race. Waban had made up a large check for TV viewers to see. We were also able to plug the opening race this year at Sanford Airport May 3 which will be a fund raiser. The only complaint I have about that day was the Camp Director ( MC ) interviewed Mark as the NEORVCA Top Eliminator Champion for 2008. He wasn't fit to talk to after that and if I hear the word " MOPAR " one more time I am going to scream.

3/18 - This Sat. 3/21 Waban Projects will be holding their annual
fundraising Telethon. Sometime during the morning a check from NEORVCA
will be presented to Waban Projects. This check represents the gate fees
collected from the race held at Sanford Airport last
Oct.

Dear Racers,
As we approach spring and the snow melts I know that you are all getting anxious
to get your rigs ready to go! I have heard from several of you and I have been alerted to a
special message.. See if you can figure out who sent it to me..
"Word has it that there are a set of Brodix Aluminum heads at Mike Kondrats
machine shop that are being worked on and according to Kondrat they should
produce an additional 30 horse or more for the motor that they are going on.
Considering that the motor was in a car that ran 4.3s and 4s if the car hooks up
it should run around 4 flat or maybe even a high 3 second pass. That is
providing that the old man that drives the car can hang on to it. GUESS WHO
!!!!!"
I can tell by that message that there will be some good fun and some
great competition this year. Can't wait to see all of you.

I heard that Hillary York has started eating for two these
days! She is determine to have her new passenger help her take that
championship away from her mother in-law this year. Now I did some
figuring and what I want to know is how is she going to reach her handle bars come
September and October?
I also have seen same strange goings on in Mark Jones garage. I keep
getting pictures of Mark and Mad Jack working on some kind of chassis that looks
similar to an old funny car chassis. They have a picture on the wall
labeled Gordon's Dream - ok this is not exactly what it say's but you get the
idea. Last week I got a picture sent to my cell phone of Gordon
Perry sitting in the chassis. Gordon what's up with that? I will
post the picture here if I can get it off my cell phone LOL!
